Responsible AI
Finterface B.V. uses AI only where it makes our work measurably better, and always under human responsibility. On this page we explain how we use AI, how we protect the data of lenders, borrowers and valuators, and what you can expect from us.
This statement applies to our website, our ABL data platform, our advisory services and the projects we carry out for clients. By “AI” we mean systems that generate or analyse text, images, code or other output based on data, such as large language models. This statement complements our Privacy notice and does not replace it.
Our principles
Five principles guide how we work with AI:
- People first. AI supports our team, people decide. Everything we deliver to clients is reviewed and approved by a person.
- Privacy by design. We use no more personal data than necessary, and we do not share confidential information with AI tools that are not suitable for it.
- Transparency. We are open about when and why we use AI, in line with our focus on transparency-based lending.
- Quality and fairness. We check AI output for errors, bias and misleading content before it is used.
- Respect for others’ work. We do not use AI to copy or imitate the work of others.
Where we use AI, and where we do not
We use AI as a tool in our own working process, for example for:
- brainstorming and structuring ideas
- first drafts of texts, which we rewrite and check ourselves
- writing, reviewing and improving code
- summarising non-confidential documents and automating repetitive tasks
- supporting design and content creation for our website and marketing
We do not use AI for:
- making decisions about individuals or companies without human review
- profiling people on sensitive characteristics
- imitating an existing person, brand or artist
- creating content intended to mislead
If AI functionality becomes part of the Finterface platform, we will inform our clients about what it does, which data it uses and how its results can be verified.
Personal data and confidential information
Finterface handles sensitive business and financial information. We treat it with care and comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
- We do not enter personal data, credentials, financial data or confidential client and borrower information into AI tools, unless this is necessary, there is a legal basis for it and the tool is suitable for the purpose.
- Data processed through the Finterface platform is not used to train AI models.
- Where possible, we anonymise or pseudonymise data before using an AI tool.
- We select AI services whose terms we have reviewed, preferably with settings that prevent our data from being used for model training.
- Where suppliers process personal data on our behalf, we put a data processing agreement in place.
- We do not keep data longer than necessary. More information is in our Privacy notice.
If you object to the use of AI in relation to your project or data, let us know and we will find a suitable solution together.
Transparency, quality and human oversight
We are open about our use of AI. When AI is a material part of something we deliver, or when you ask us, we will tell you.
AI can make mistakes, present incorrect information as fact or reflect bias. That is why a person always reviews the output for accuracy, tone and suitability before we use or deliver it. Finterface B.V. remains responsible for the final result, not the AI tool.
Copyright and ownership
We do not use AI to reproduce protected work of others. When using AI tools, we respect the provider’s terms of use and the rights of third parties, such as copyright and trademark rights.
The copyright status of AI-generated output is still developing legally. Agreements about ownership and use of the work we deliver are therefore set out in the agreement with our client. We do not use confidential materials you provide to train AI models.
Your rights, contact and changes
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct or erase your personal data, and to object to its processing. Do you have a question, concern or complaint about our use of AI? Please contact us:

AI and its regulation, including the European AI Act, are evolving quickly. We review this statement regularly and update it when our practices or the rules change. The latest version is always on this page.
